A high-quality education is one of the most important things that we can provide a child. Exposure to a variety of topics, people, and adventures all contribute to a fulfilling school experience.  Music is how we do that!

  • The 7/8th Grade Band is also our "Walcott Marching Band."

  • 4th and 5th Grade Orchestra at Walcott, Blue Grass and Buffalo Schools
  • 6th Grade Orchestra at Walcott

*Each band and orchestra student also receives a 10 minute lesson once a week.

Grading (general information - please see your director)

  • Students have only 2 weeks to make up a missed band or orchestra lesson. 
  • Missing a concert without a legitimate reason = 0 (Unless it was approved by your director or you had a family emergency)
  • Missing a concert with a director approved excuse = Band and Orchestra students will make a video or audio tape of themselves playing the concert music.  Chorus students will write a review/critique of a video musical performance. Students only have 1 week to do the make up.

  • April 8th, West Fest. Rehearsal, Orchestra, morning at West HS
  • April 8th, Honor Choir, Select Chorus members, West HS
  • April 10th, Jazz Band Festival, Jazz Band, River Music Experience, Be there BY 10:55 AM
  • April 27th, "Bagels with the Band" 4th Grade Concert, 6-8th Bands, JZ, 9:15 am, Be at Walcott BY 8 AM to help set-up
  • April 29th, Blue Grass Chorus Program, only B.G. 5th grade band,  Be ready to warm-up by 6:30 pm
  • May 4th, DCSD Elementary Festival, Walcott, B.G. and Buffalo 5th Bands and 4th and 5th Orchestras, Central HS, Be there by 6:30 pm
  • May 13th, Spring Orchestra Concert, at Walcott, 7pm
  • May 15th, Six Flags Performance Trip, 7/8th Band and Orchetra, Show Choir, Chicago all day
  • May 18th, Spring Bands Concert and Awards, 5-8th Bands, JZ, Perc./Clar./Sax ensembles, Walcott Large Gym, Rehearsal times TBA
  • May 25th, School Awards Night, Clarinet and Saxophone Ensembles, 6:30pm
We can't post group pictures until the EVERY member of the ensemble has turned the picture permission form in to the director!

Click below and either print the permission form or you can save it on your computer.  If needed you can change the group and director name before you turn it in to your director.
