7/8th Grade Band
- Rehearses Monday through Friday and is the most visible ensemble.
- Participates in the Davenport Community School District's Band Spectacular - approx. 600 band students perform together, Davenport's Halloween parade, 2 concerts and "Great America's Band Festival."
Students are responsible for the following:
- To return the signature page from our band handbook, the District solo fee of $2.00 and the internet/newspaper permission form (for group pictures on this site and in the newspaper).
- To be prepared for and to attend the private 10 minute lesson each week.
- To bring thier instrument, book (Essential Elements 2000 Book 2 or a more difficult book),
folder with music and supplies every day we have a rehearsal.
- To practice AT LEAST 15 minutes a day so we can have FUN in band!
Other Opportunities
- SEIBA Honor Band - Southeastern Iowa Bandmasters Association
- St. Ambrose Honor Band and other area honor bands
- Recruiting band students

Jazz Band Students are responsible for the following:
- To be one time for rehearsal. Extra Credit = 1 point a rehearsal is awarded and applied
to the concert band grade.
- Attendance at every performance is required.
- Students will clean and return the school issued jazz band polos at the end of the year and will be respondsible
for any damage.

Percussion Ensemble
- Rehearses Friday morning at 8a.m. During the months of August-October the 7/8th grade drumline rehearse.
In November percussion ensemble starts rehearsing and includes the 6th grade percussionists.
- Participates in at least 2 concerts a year.

Jazz Band
- Rehearses Wednesday at 8a.m. Starting in November 2008 will rehearse on Mon. AND
Wed. at 8am.
- We use the Standard of Excellence Jazz Ensemble Method Book w/CD as well as sheet music to develop
"the basics of jazz." We do perform other styles of music such as, Blues, Latin, Rock, Reggee, etc.
- Participates at least 2 concerts a year. *Other performing opportunities may arise.
