Mrs. Hill, 5-8th Grade Bands

Mrs. Monike (pronounced like Monique) Hill is currently in her 8th year of teaching.  She is the director of the Walcott, Blue Grass and Buffalo 5th through 8th grade concert bands, the 7th/8th grade marching band (just the 7/8th grade band during the months of Aug.-Oct.) the jazz band and percussion ensemble.

Mrs. Hill attended J.B. Young and Central HS in Davenport and was very involved with the choir, orchestra and band programs.  She attended Western Illinois University because of thier fabulous music programs and because they were the only University at the time who had a steel band.  Her teaching positions have included the following: 6th-12th grade bands for Orion Community Schools, IL., K-5 general music/beginning band at Bay County Public School Academy in Bay City, MI. and Director of Bands for Heritage High School in Saginaw, MI.

Mrs. Hill loves the "crazyness" of the high school ensembles but moved back home in order to put her family first.   In addition to teaching she also does the following: teaches the J.B. Young Steel Band, is the drumline instructor for West High School, is a percussionist/section leader with the Quad City Wind Ensemble, performs in the area on her steel drums, teaches private percussion lessons and sings at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport.
